25 July 2020
A mysterious location that we discovered by accident. Little information about this location. Also visited an empty warehouse, not very special.
More photo’s in the folder Military and Transport/Industrial.
17 July 2020
Urbexing again after a long period. A well-known location but visited again. Still beautiful, but more decay visible - floors sag a bit more, another wall collapsed and the tower of the chapel disappears. More photo’s in the folder Religion/Medical.
28 March 2020
I came across an empty building while walking in a forest. Of course we checked if we could enter, and yes. Was not a big building with many pumping machines in it. After investigation, it appears to be an abandoned water pumping station. More photo’s in the folder Transport/Industrial.
7 December 2019
I went back to Zeche P with two friends for another Horror Photoshoot. Now we could go everywhere. Apparently still no better model can be found - or no one who is so crazy to be the model. Was again fun to do and luckily nobody else there, otherwise they would have been frightened. These photos are not made by me.
2 November 2019
Today I went to Zeche P and Camp Benelux with three friends. This Urbex trip was a creepy photoshoot and I was the model. Was fun to do.
In Zeche P we could not get everywhere, one of the friends could not get over the second obstacle. And in Camp Benelux it was a short photoshoot - have been asked by the manager to leave. These photo's are not made by me.
26 October 2019
The second time to Sanatorium du Basil. Still accessible, even though it has a new owner. Again more vandalism than previous visit.
There were a lot of people taking pictures. This visit was for two purposes - Urbex and creepy photos. Was a successful day.
Pictures are in the folder 'Religion/Medical'.
11 October 2019
Today we selected three Urbex locations - a main location and two reserve locations. Only visited the main location, Zeche P. Car parked in a side street, through the fence and through a bramble field to the abandoned location. At first we thought that everything was completely closed. But don't give up too quickly and indeed an entrance on one side. Through a chair through an open window and in the building through a chair on the table through a hatch above a tightly welded door to continue. Nice location with the clothing chains and maggots of the miners still present. Photos in the folder 'Coal/Lime/Brick'.
6 September 2019
Visited again old train wagons, but now at the Train Station As. This time a lady came watching what I was doing, after explaining that I only came to take pictures was it good. The photos are in the 'Transport/Industrial' folder.
1 September 2019
Encountered empty train wagons during a hicking tour. Not a real Urbex location, but train wagons are always beautiful to photograph. Photos in the "Transport/Industrial" folder.
20 August 2019
Today we used the time that we were in Luxembourg for a hicking tour. We also visited the location of the Lost Rowing Boats. Photos in the folder 'Leisure/Residential'
3 August 2019
After six months we went to Urbex again. Now with two friends. Have been to four locations - Het Winkeltje, Strawberry Farm, Molt House I and Molt House II. The first location is on a busy street, the car is parked a bit from the Urbex location and we have to go through a bush to get to the entrance. Beautiful location. The second location is located in a small village. After we parked the car, the neighbor came to take a look, but no problems. Via entrance to the inside. Slightly less beautiful location, but definitely worth it. Molt House I and II, the second time we were there - for the friends the first time. Still beautiful locations. Was a successful day. Photos in the 'Leisure/Residential' folders
2 August 2019
Received this gift from a friend some time ago. Beautiful book with dream photos and Urbex locations.
1 March 2019
After a long period of time Urbexen, now with a friend. Two locations visited, Charbonnage No 10 Du Gouffre and Charbonnage des Hiercheuses. The first is a beautiful location with nicely dilapidated buildings, here and there chains on the plafons. Walked here for almost three hours. The second location is not that special, ony one building. Well clear signs that a homeless person lives there. But actually not the trouble of visiting. Photos in the 'Coal/Lime/Brick' folder.
6 January 2019
Visited two Urbex locations - Charbonnage de Forte-Taille and Piscine S-Du Mosq - with a nephew and his daughter. For them the first Urbex experience. Both locations special and there were also other Urbexers. The old coal mine is a large complex with a lot of decay and in the office rooms an old piano. The pool/theater also quite a large complex with clear evidence that they worked to change it in mosque - Arabic tiles. At the pool, the changing rooms are still present. Photos in the 'Coal/Lime/Brick' and 'Leisure/Residential' folders
2 January 2019
Visited one Urbex location - Abattoir De Lokery. A vacant pig slaughterhouse where most of the equipment, administration, and materials are still present. Am also well-shaken, almost collided with another Urbexer at a corner in a dark part of the building. There are also signs that there have been homeless people living in an office space and in another office space evidence of drug use (syringes and needles on the ground). Impressive location that will most likely soon be gone. Photos in the folder 'Transport/Industrial'
27 December 2018
Visited three small urbex locations - Café Bie Wullemke, House 1864, and Club Bridge-Inn. The first, with the permission of the owner, was a small village pub with the counter still present and on the first floor clear evidence that homeless people lived there. House 1864 an old house with some furniture still present. Could be better called piss-house, because a room was apparently the public toilet and smelled badly of pee. The third location is a former brothel - now completely empty and waiting for a new future. Photos in the 'Leisure/Residential' folder.
17 December 2018
Three locations visited - Gare The Herbesthal, Villa Beemwee and Racing Hotel F. The first location is a former distribution center for the post. The warehouse with beautiful lines and building elements, but clear signs that in some places the roof is collapsing. The office building is empty but the spaces are still beautiful to photograph - a lot of decay, little graffiti. Most probably the warehouse is used by an Air Soft association. The second location - Villa Beemwee - is actually no longer interesting to visit. Almost all floors in the main building have collapsed and there is little to make pictures of. The BMW where this location thanked its name has been removed. The third location is a pretty big hotel. Below is all nailed up and at first we thought we could not enter. But an entrance at the back. In basement and ground floor flashlight needed to find the way and from first floor a mask as protection against the fungus necessary. A number of campers behind the hotel. Successful day with two beautiful locations. Photos in 'Transport/Industrial' and 'Leisure/Residential' folders.
8 December 2018
Today went Urbexen with two friends. Visited Couvent Agnus Dei and Preventorium Dolhain. Was for them the first time they visited these locations, for me the second time. The couvent more in decline and clear that there are still a few floors to collapse. In the preventorium not much has changed and is still used by an airsoft association. Was a pleasant and successful day. Photos in the 'Religion/Medical' folder.
1 December 2018
Again urbexed today, three locations selected - Chateau Goorhof, Maison du Cerf and Chateau du Dragon. Chateau Goorhof actually no longer worth the effort to visit. Was probably once a big beautiful castle, but now a big empty ruin. Proof that work was started on renovation, but has not been completed for some reason. Maison du Cerf a home with a dental practice - a haunted house. At the moment we wanted to enter at the backdoor the door opened automatically, in the house regularly footsteps to hear but there was no one else and when we went away the door closed with a hard blow. The Chateau du Dragon skipped, was on a busy road with a lot of traffic at that moment, will go back again. Photos in the 'Castles' and 'Leisure/Residential' folders.
13 November 2018
After one and half month again Urbexed. A visit to an abandoned Belgian army camp in Germany - Camp Benelux. Car very tactically parked, at the main entrance and through a hole in the fence inside. After the third building I thought that we would soon be ready, actually all the same, empty alloy buildings - but with a lot of decay. But this changed when we arrived in the recreation building. A theater with the chairs in it, two bowling alleys and cellars with long dark corridors/rooms with water on the floors. Eventually almost three hours in the camp. Photos are in the 'Military' folder.
5 October 2018
Today was another Urbex day. Now three locations on the list. Two we could visit - Camp Hitfeld and Mission to Mars - and one was closed, all three in Germany. Camp Hitfeld is an old Belgian camp where there is a lot of graffiti and decay, also here in some places traces that homeless people have lived. 3½ hours needed to see the complete camp. Mission to Mars is a small location where we have been only for a short time, was nice to see. Successful day. Photos in the 'Military' and 'Transport/Industrial' folders.
4 October 2018
Now an Urbex list with eight locations, four main locations and four reserve locations. The reserves were not needed today, we were able to enter all the main locations. We visited Farmer Jack, Viva Lancia, Mold House I and Mold House II. Four smaller locations but all four were special and we could make beautiful pictures. At Viva Lancia all cars are destroyed - what a waste. The other locations did not have any vandalism or graffiti, but a lot of decay. In the two Mold Houses the dust mask was put on - the name actually indicates it. At Mold House I you can smell the mold already at the outside. Photos in the 'Leisure/Residential' folder.
30 September 2018
Visited with two friends the Cokeries d'Anderlues. In comparison with old photographs, many metal pipes and boilers have been removed from the buildings. Large complex but not possible to see all the rooms because the stairs are gone. A lot of coal dust in the workspaces. Looks like a start is made with the demolition of the complex. Photos in the 'Coal/Lime/Brick' folder.
24 September 2018
The second time to Fort Chartreuse. Visited this time the surrounding buildings. And seen evidence of homeless people - different provisionally made tents in the bushes. Again seen all sorts of people on the site, but now nothing unusual. Today we spent 2½ hours in the buildings and now we have seen the whole fort. Fort Chartreuse is a beautiful Urbex location to visit. Photos in the folder 'Military'.
21 September 2018
Many plans today, a total of five Urbex locations selected. And finally two locations not possible to enter, one location still in use, one location not interesting and the last one made up for the almost lost day. Four à la Chaux Ampsin is a beautiful old lime factory with all machines are still present but also a lot of pollution - oil everywhere. To be able to see the whole factory we had to walk through a lot of bushes.
Photos are in the folder 'Transport/Industrial'.
11 September 2018
Again a legal visit. With authorization from the demolition company we could visit the Shopping Centre ‘de Plu’. At the bottom the shopping centre and above a large office space. Even with this legal visit we had to climb through small openings to enter all location, part not possible to visit due to asbestos. At several locations in the office spaces evidence that homeless people lived there for a longer time. Photos in the 'School/Office' folder.
24 August 2018
Another Legal Visit today, with permission from the demolition company. Visit to two office buildings that are being prepared to be demolished. Despite the fact that the buildings have not been empty for so long, there is a lot of destruction, graffiti and decay. Offices are normally boring buildings, but because of the beautiful graffiti they are interesting to walk around. And as a result of broken windows there were also pets, some fat pigeons. Photos in the 'School/Office' folder.
18 August 2018
Today again a Legel Visit. With permission of the owner could take pictures in the Castle Borgharen. Despite renovations being carried out, there were very nice rooms and in some locations some furniture. A beautiful photo shoot in a beautiful castle. Photo's are in the folder 'Castles'.
14 Augustus 2018
Today I had the opportunity to take pictures in the boiler house at a military camp. Has not been used for a few years and is on the list to be demolished. Not very intresting but nice to make pictures here before it is gone. The photo's are in the map 'Military'.
10 August 2018
Visited three locations today - Fliegerhorst Venlo, Cemetery of the Hands and Open Air Theatre De Lichtenberg. At the airport there are only remains of two buildings, but a special building - one of the 42 arch hangars that stood there. A very special grave in the cemetery. At the open air theatre we had to search for the entrance. But we could squeeze ourselves through the narrow opening. The photos are in the folders "Military", "Religion/Medical, and "Leisure/Residential".
26 July 2018
After a prolonged period visited today an Urbex location. This time a legal visit to Fort St. Pieter. A beautiful old fort, almost completely intact, but very humid. Photos are in the 'military' folder.
3 June 2018
During a walking tour we encountered the remains of the first Dutch cement factory. Not much left, only a few walls. Luckily my camera with me. Photos are in the 'Transport/Industrial' folder.
21 May 2018
Visited today three locations - Chateau Wolfstein, Poudreries Réunies de Belgique and Chateau de la Solitude. All three locations could be visited, so the second attempt at Chateau Wolfstein is now successful. The chateau is still in very good condition, not much damage or graffiti. Still a reasonable amount of furniture present. Poudreries Réunies de Belgique a factory spread out over a large area. Lot of damage, but nice to visit. Chateau de la Solitude a reasonable large location. The chateau completely destroyed. But the watermill is still in a good condition. Nice day with nice weather and nice locations. Photos are in the 'Castles' and 'Transport/Industrial' folder
9 May 2018
After a month had again the chance to Urbex. Three locations visited - Château Wolfenstein and Gare de la Jemelle's both completely closed. Fortunately, Château Rouge was possible to enter. Actually quite a beautiful castle, only almost everything destroyed inside. Also in the outbuildings. The little chapel in the forest is still in a reasonable condition. Photos in the 'Castles' folder.
9 April 2018
Discovered that the information I mentioned at an Urbex location is not correct. Thought they are remnants of a factory hall of the marl quarry. But it turns out that they are the remnants of a Luftwaffe Repair Bunker. In this bunker engines for German bombers were repaired during the last years of WO-II. Have moved the photos and updated information to the folder 'Military'.
6 April 2018
Today we had three locations on our list. Sanatorium du Basil, Prison 11, and Kazerne De Cubber. Prison 11 we could not enter. Sanatorium du Basil is a beautiful and impressive building from the outside. Not very special at the inside - lots of vandalism. It is required to walk a steep path to get to the location, truly breath-taking. We had our first interaction with a homeless person. This was a strange experience, after this we heard strange noises everywhere in the building. Pictures are in the folder 'Religion/Medical'. Kazerne De Cubber is a nice location. It had his best time and there is huge decline. There was also clear evidence that several homeless people live there, but none was present when we were there. The entrance to the site is on a busy main street. Waiting for a good moment and then quickly through the gate. Pictures are in the folder 'Military'.
30 March 2018
Five Lime Kilns visited in South Limburg. One they are restoring and was closed-off with fencing and blue plastic sheets - was not possible to make pictures. Another location we had to walk for 15 minutes on a field road to get there. Of course, they are not top Urbex locations, but are an important part of Limburg's industrial history. Think I almost have them all now. Pictures are in the folder "Coal/Lime/Brick".
11 March 2018
During a walk we found another Urbex location, the small farm De Heesel. This location has a special war story. Pictures are in the folder 'Transport/Residential'. It seems that the whole of Limburg is full of abandoned buildings - but no, it is total coincidence that I encounter them.
9 March 2018
Visited four locations. We skipped the pool Bloso, could not enter. We have beautiful pictures from the Swamp Hotel, Brick Factory Frateur and Brick Factory Lauwers. Pictures are in the folders 'Leisure' and 'Coal/Lime/Brick'.
4 March 2018
During a walking tour I saw an abandoned farm and fortunately I had my pocket camera with me. The farm almost completely collapsed, all doors were closed. So I made some pictures from the outside, they are in the folder 'Transport/Residential'.
3 March 2018
Today a legal visit at Kent School. A beautiful location where we were for three hours. Pictures are placed in the 'School/Office' folder.
23 February 2018
The two locations that I had on the list to visit, were not particularly interesting - not worthwhile to make pictures. I was aware that there had to be another location nearby that I had not found before. After a walk I met other hikers and they knew where the other location was. And fortunately because I was walking the wrong direction. The first new location less interesting, but it was close to the other. Pictures can be found in the Coal/Lime/Office folder.
11 February 2018
Added pictures of a visit to Fort Eben-Emael from 2017 in the 'Military' folder.
10 February 2018
Visited only one location: the lost tanks. Completely different setting in the snow. And yes, you must be careful with Urbex. Wet lower leg, I fell through the ice while making a pictures.
3 February 2018
Today we had four locations on our list. First stop was Maison Fien. A small house that is partially furnished. Through the front door inwards. Be careful with your head, doors are low. A kind of time capsule, nice to see. For the next two locations - Castle Hogemeyer and Castle de Wip - it was no longer possible to enter. They were renovating both building. The last stop was the Tax Office Neerpelt. Large building located at a busy main street. Waiting that there was not too much traffic, and hop through the fence onto the terrain. At the back an entrance into the building. Building has fallen prey to vandals, almost everything is destroyed.
28 January 2018
Today during a hiking tour, found an Urbex-location - Farmhouse Lozen. Fortunately I always have a pocket camera with me.
26 January 2018
Today made a visit to two location. First stop was the Crypte in Belgium. Did not find the location in the beginning and was thinking about leaving. Did take just one more walk and yes. Was very interesting and for me the first time I was in a crypte. Second trip of today was to the Fort Chartreuse. Was incredibly large, largest Urbex location that we have visited so far. We were not alone, there were quite a few other visitors. They were spraying the graffiti, were also making pictures, just looking around and a dubious one. More than four hours in the fort and not yet seen everything.
