Lost Rowing Boats - 21 August 2019

Actually not a real Urbex location. it is a day beach with a lot of rowing boats. Some are new and others clearly show that they have not been used for a long time.

Het Winkeltje - 4 August 2019

The story goes that the shop was owned by an older man in the seventies. One day he was attacked by three men in his shop and was beaten up. He woke up in the hospital. But died here a few days later, this was in 2010. Since then the shop has been empty, with many things still on the shelves.

Strawberry Farm - 3 August 2019

Not much information available about this farm. It owes its name to the tablecloth. Apparently a widow has lived here. When she was less agile, a bed was placed in the living room. After she died, the farm became empty.

Molt House I (2nd Visit) - 3 August 2019

Molt House II (2nd Visit) - 3 August 2019

Piscine S-Du Mosq - 6 January 2019

Piscine S was built in 1937-1939 by the architect Eléazar Cozac which a swimming pool, a theater, a casino, and a restaurant. In 1994 it was sold to the Université Libre de Bruxelles. A first threat of closure was in 1996. After many unsuccessful negotiations, the swimming pool closed in August 1998. The university will use for a few more years the theater, the cafeteria and other premises, before their final abandonment around 2004. Since 2005, the facilities have become the property of a Muslim community that intends to eventually establish a mosque. Development work has started, but not completed. End december 2018 the location was sold at an action for 325,000- Euro.

Club Bridge-Inn - 27 December 2018

Property was built in 1930 and originally used as a café-restaurant. Later used as a brothel. It is vacant from 2001 and there is proof of the start of the renovation of the building. But the work has stopped. The latest news is that the municipality is considering to establish a museum there.

House 1864 - 27 December 2018

A beautiful old house with stables, built in 1864. It is probably already empty from 2000 and was sold in 2016 to Bouwgroep Paul Corstjens. The planning is that it will be renovated. In a collapsed stable there is an old car under the rubble, which brand I could not see through the rubble – what a shame.

Renovation work started in the second half of 2019. Stables have been demolished to make room for new construction.

Café Bie Wullemke - 27 December 2018

A small village pub with a few cattle stables at the back. I have not found much information about this location. Is probably already empty for 15 years and will be demolished in early 2019. In the bar area, the counter is still present and in a bedroom the wardrobe. In another bedroom, clear evidence that homeless people lived here. (legal visit)

Racing Hotel F - 17 December 2018

The hotel was once popular with racing fanatics, It is here that in 1920 the foundation was laid for one of the most legendary race circuits in the world. The history of the hotel itself goes a bit further back. In the middle of the 19th century there was already a farm on that spot. That farm is being developed into a full-fledged hotel located close to the finish of the new circuit Spa-Francorchamps. In 1922 the first car race is driven there and from then on the hotel grows into a popular place for racing tourists.

During the Second World War there were fierce battles in and around nearby Malmedy. The hotel was used as headquarters during this period by American troops. After the war it resumes the role of hotel. In 2006, the hotel changed its name. Another 2 years later, in 2008, it is taken over by a Luxembourg company. Due to poor management and outdated infrastructure, the hotel gets a bad name and the customers stayed away. The bankruptcy will follow on 25 May 2016. Although there are plans to reopen the hotel, the building has been empty since then.

Villa Beemwee - 17 December 2018

The location consists of two buildings, tiny porter house with garage and a villa deeper in the domain. Both buildings are not particularly for photographing. And the garage were the BMW was in is empty. Nothing could be discovered about the history of the villa and the accompanying porter house. Nice to pick up for those in the neighbourhood, but not the trouble to plan a trip.

Maison du Cerf - 1 December 2018

Maison du Cerf is a large abandoned dentists house in Belgium. A lot of healthcare in Belgium seems to be ran from home. Considering the length of time this home has been left it is in remarkable condition. Not really much decay or vandalism has taken place here. Recently there was a fire on the 2nd floor. There is a lack of contents in the residential part but the dental practice remains with the chair and equipment still waiting for the next patient to arrive.

Mold House II - 4 October 2018

Not much information about this location. Apparently the woman was a teacher and the house is empty from 2011 - after the inhabitants died?? A lot of black mold is present in the house, wearing a protective mask is recommended.

Viva Lancia - 4 October 2018

A house with old Lancia's in the garden. The cars are put close together. The house itself is nothing special, a dilapidated smelly mess. The real Urbex location are the Lancia's in the garden. Not mutch other information available. The story goes that it was a workshop for classic cars - Lancia's - and that when the owner died, his next of kin had no further interest in it and everything around the house was left how it was???

Mold House I - 4 October 2018

Have no information on this Urbex location. A lot of mold is present in the house, wearing a protective mask is recommended.

Farmer Jack - 4 October 2018

Is a small abandoned house. Very small though. The bedroom was completely small. There is still a nice old abandoned BMW in the barn. Probably this house was from someone who suddenly died, and left the house behind. Apparently there are no relatives who wanted the house. I have no other information about this location. House and ground are for sale, € 195.000-.

Open-Air Theater The Lichtenberg - 10 August 2018

The Lichtenberg is a complex with buildings, built in the period 1954-1961. The whole is laid out for the students of the a nearby college. The architect responsible for the entire complex is the Weertenaar Pierre Weegels, he collaborated with the visual artist Harrie Martens.

The complex combined culture, sport and religion and included an open-air theater (no longer in use), tennis courts (still in use), a swimming pool (no longer in use) and a Maria Chapel. Within the framework of the list of monuments from the 1940-1958 construction period, in the "Leisure" category, this part of De Lichtenberg was designated as a national monument in 2010.

Farmhouse De Heesel - 11 March 2018

On November 27, 1941, in the evening around 8:30, an English plane flew over the farm De Heesel. After a hard day on the field, Sjef Roumans (40), Wiel Roemans (18), Harry Frijns (52) and Sjeng Frijns (19) were feeding the cows in the barn. They walked out, heard the whistle of a falling bomb followed by a huge blow. The bomb hit 35 meters from the farm. The enormous air pressure that came with it killed all four men. The farm was severely damaged by the blow. The 6 children who were in the farm together with their mother remained unharmed. Since that day the farm is abandoned.

Swamp Hotel - 9 March 2018

In a distant past, in the 1960s, someone had come up with the ingenious idea of building a hotel at the Vrijbroekpark. 19 storeys high. Not entirely an illogical choice: it is a beautiful park, a peaceful area where the birds chirp and everyone loves each other. But the story goes that construction has been stopped because the ground could not handle it. The ground is a marsh ground, and if you put a colossal building on it, you can continue building. They have not got further than the first floor. Now, more than 40 years later, everything is still the same as it was then.

Farmhouse Camerig - 4 March 2018

Maison Fien - 3 February 2018

An small abandoned house somewhere in Belgium, built in 1919. It seems like the time has stood still here. It's abandoned in 2006. Apparently the house is now for sale, through a public auction.

Farmhouse Lozen - 28 January 2018

I could not trace much information about this Urbex-location. In 1923 it was a trout-farm, after that a small farm. This location is empty from before 2012, but how long???

Ghost Town Doel - 12 January 2018

Doel is a ghost town just across the border in Belgium near Antwerp where hardly anyone lives. An abandoned town with closed windows and doors, crumbled walls and lots of graffiti. Since the sixties there have been expansion plans for the port of Antwerp, which means that the village of Doel has to move. Also during this period the implantation took place of the nuclear power plant located at 1 kilometre from the village. The number of residents of Doel went back. In the years that followed, the town became the target for squatters who have disappeared since 2006. Doel gradually became more and more a ghost town. Nowadays, only a handful of houses are still inhabited.
